The party of shame and lies...
Is no lie too outrageous, no scare tactic too outlandish, no deception too shameful for the once Grand Old Party?
The national Republican Party has mailed a fundraising effort claiming Democrats are trying to single out Republican to deny them healthcare.
Of course, the claim is completely and utterly unfounded.
Like other absurd lies promoted by leading Republicans like former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who falsely -- and repeatedly -- claimed that Democratic proposals would set up "death panels" to deny care to the terminally ill, this one has no basis in fact, whatsoever.
The Associated press wrote, in part:
The suggestion that Republicans might not receive care is included in a "Future of American Health Care Survey" containing 13 questions, most of which are critical of the Democratic health care effort. The technique, referred to as a "push poll," is used often in political campaigns by both parties and is designed to spread negative information, not to sample public opinion. When confronted on the complete falsity of the suggestion, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee suggested the claim was "inartfully worded."
Please.
Let's call it what it is.
A bald-faced, outrageous, shameful lie.
